8:00-9:00: breakfast
So, I woke up the next day, and my dad was nowhere to be found. Called him, went to his room, nowhere. So, I shrugged, and went downstairs to eat breakfast on my own. Ate with Brian Corsetti. Went back up to the room, and chilled out in my dad's room for a while. He came back and SURPRISE! He got up really early to get us tix to the top of the Washington Monument! HOORAY!

11:00-13:00: washington monument )

Lovely lovely. But we had to hurry, or we were going to miss our shuttle to BWI! RUUUUN! We make it back in time. Phew. The shuttle van is going, but the air conditioner is making this horrible racket. The driver got all nervous, like we weren't going to tip him because of the noise, so my dad starts pounding on the dashboard. Doesn’t work. Oohhh well. About two-thirds of the way into the voyage, the noise stops. We all think it's great, until I notice that the dashboard is steaming. HOLY SHIT, THAT'S NOT STEAM! IT'S SMOKE! The driver almost started an electrical fire by leaving the a/c on. Luckily, he turned it off in time, and we all lived to tell the story. We got to the airport with plenty of time to spare, and sat around for a while.

16:00-18:30: flight
Well a smoother flight couldn't have existed. Had good seats, and everything. I even took pictures from the air! )

19:00-00:30: baggage
So, we're sitting around in the baggage claim, and I’m still chanting 'you have reached the end of the eeeenternet' and my dad is very testy. And... our bags never come. So, I freak out, because CRAP I AM LEAVING FOR NIAGARA FALLS TOMORROW AND I NEED THE STUFF IN MY BAG! We go home and my dad is arguing with the people until 1230 in the morning. Meanwhile, CRAP! I can't find my birth certificate. Tear my ENTIRE room apart (it's still a mess :-\) to no avail. now I’m thinking I can't go to Niagara falls, when my mom says out loud 'don't worry, blossom (my late grandma) will find it for us'. I shrug her off, and keep looking. Eventually, I give up, and go sit with my dad out in the living room and listen to him argue with the baggage people, when my mom comes sprinting out of the back of the house.

Back story: So, my brother Jake wanted to bring his ipod to camp with him, and my mom said *stammy voice* “Mmmaybe you couldNOO!” so she rearranged everything in her safe to fit in all of his ipod stuff. And, on top of all that, she has never seen my birth certificate.

Flashforwarddddd... 'IT WAS IN MY SAFE!'

Yeah, that's right, the birth certificate was in the safe, and WASN'T THERE THE DAY BEFORE. Weird. Spooky, even.

Anyway, I went to sleep with all being right in the world. Next stop, Niagara Falls.

8:00-10:00: awards ceremony
So I woke up, and got all purty-fied. I went downstairs with my dad, and one of the first awards was "Highest % Increase in Sales for an Area Developer." And my dad won! That was hot. We both were completely shocked. And then, he won the "Extra Slice" award for his work on the new cash register system. It was really neat. Then, I got my scholarship, and I got the first standing ovation I have ever received. It was pretty exhilerating. All these people kept congratulating me, and I had no idea who most of them were. Oh well. Hehee.

11:00-17:00: sightseeing: lots of things )

18:00-22:30: blimpie party
The party.. was awesome! We had a live band, and people actually DANCED! Like, there was space between the two bodies of people dancing together! None of this grinding crap! Haha. It was awesome. Did the electric slide, the limbo, some crazy dancing... It was like, bar mitzvah to the nth power. Hung out with this funny guy named Rich, who kept blowing those funny unrollynoisemaker thingies that you used to get at li'l kids' birthday parties... you know the kind? Well, we kept ambushing Rich with those. It was amusing. Awesome awesome awesome. Went to bed as soon as it was over and slept oh so well.

8:00-9:00: breakfast
For breakfast, we again ate in the hotel, and I had some croissants... tres bons! J'aime les croissants beaucoup... haha. We got ready for speeches, but Dad made us late, surprise.

9:00-10:30: speeches
Listened to Jeff Endervelt speak. And the guy from Wal-mart. The Wal-mart speech was much better... But then I got bored, so my dad let me go upstairs. Took another nap. Mmm naps.

1:00-2:30: trade show )

15:00-17:30: sightseeing: the smithsonian )

18:30-2:30: cocktail hour and what happened afterward
I chilled up in the room, thinking my dad would come and get me at around 7, so we could get some eats. How wrong I was... he never came up. So I went down to the pool area, and found him, and said I was hungry. He brought me back upstairs, since I wasn't feeling well, and let me order room service and a movie. He also let me go online, which is always exciting. So, I ordered angel hair, chicken, and broccoli. I ate all the broccoli, about half of the angel hair, and a quarter of the chicken. So much food... Anyway, I ordered the movie Mean Girls, and it was pretty good. I liked it a lot, cause I'm a nerd like that. I sat online complaining to Geoff until 2:30 when my dad came home... he was pretty surprised to see me up, needless to say. I whined at him about staying up so late, and then I went to bed.

8:00-12:30: flight
So, I have only flown once before, so I was pretty psyched. We got to T.F. Green and wound around and around and around, up the stairs and down for security. It seemed pretty silly to me, but whatever. We got on the plane, took off, and all was good. I stared out the window the entire time, ate some hostess cupcakes, and had a soda. Had some cool turbulence, which is always fun. I think I'm the only person ever who actually enjoys turbulence. Heh. It started to rain, we landed in Philadelphia and... sat. For an hour and a half. 75 feet from the gate. Yeah that's right, lightning was hitting the ground, so they had to evacuate the ground crew. Blah. It blew. So, we finally got off the plane and found out that our connection was leaving at 10:25. That would have been fine, except it was 10:19. And we had to get from Terminal B to the end of Terminal F. RUN RUN RUN! So we hoofed it down there.. my ankle was killing me and we are running and running, and SURPRISE! We need to go through security again! We're late. My dad is thinking we missed the plane. We race all the way to F27 to find that.. the plane hadn't even boarded yet. Mmhm. That's right. Gotta love airports. So, after the plane boards, we sit on the plane at the run way for another hour. Plane takes off, lands, and we are FINALLY in washington dc.

12:30-18:30: sleep and writing
My dad had some meeting to go to, so I got to stay up in my room for several hours. I watched some tv for a while, read some Vergil, and got randomly inspired. It was so cool.. I filled up five pieces of hotel paper, which made me feel like a huge dork. Since you know, Michelle Branch wrote a song about that. It actually was good writing. I posted it at [info]blueyesfl0at around this date, but whatever. Then I felt really drained and sad, so I took a nice nap.

19:00: dinner
We ate dinner at this sports bar downstairs in the hotel, and we watched this crazy show about windsurfing and parachuting and wakeboarding and hanggliding... It was awesome. I discovered that I really really like quesadillas... so much so that I ate only two bites of my cheeseburger. Hah. It was ok, my dad wasn't mad.

20:00-23:00: exploring
After dinner, I dragged my dad outside and we took a nice walk down Connecticut Ave. and then over to the White House.

Dad and I took a nice little walk down to the White House the first night we were there, and we saw a band playing in one of the circles.

After that, we had had enough, so we walked back to the hotel and went to sleep.

I suppose I need an actual entry, and all that jazz, since I'm messing around with customizations. Can't exactly customize without entries.

In any case, this marks my, what, seventh? Livejournal? Eighth actually, now that I think about it. One will be discontinued soon, in any case. But whatever. This, as the name suggests, is going to be my travel journal. It will document, well, any travel I do. Whether it's in the states, out of the states, whatever. I think it's a good plan. I do have a Blogger account that I have been using to document strictly my Italy trip, but I'm not sure if I'm going to continue using it. In any case, I might have both. We'll see. Whatever.

This will be chock full of pictures too, so if you're on dial up, or something crazy, you may not want to look. Don't worry though.. I lj-cut :)

That's all for now. Check back later, this is heavily under construction.
